Question:

How is a commercial trucking case different from a car accident case?

Answer:

There are two main differences when you're working on a truck case as opposed to a car crash case.  Trucking cases deal with a lot more complex systems.  Trucks have lots of systems to measure the telemetry, where they can measure the speed, brake distance.  Some of them also have in-camera dash cams, and some of them have GPS as well.  That data goes away after a very short amount of time, so steps need to be taken to preserve it.

Secondly, these cases are a lot more complex.  Trucks and truck drivers are heavily regulated by federal regulations which impose certain requirements on how much time a driver can operate his truck without rest.  Logbooks are going to be very important, as well as weights and maintenance records.  So, a lot more detail, and a lot more complexity is involved.
