Multiple Parties in Trucking Accident Cases

In this Legal Minute Video, TWWHB partner, Phillip Warren, will discuss the different entities that may be held responsible in a trucking accident, which is one of the reasons trucking accidents are much more complex than your traditional car accident.  Trucking accidents may involve the shipper, the broker, and other entities in addition to merely the owner of the truck and the driver.  Many people do not understand the complex systems, federal regulations, and multiple layers of insurance often involved in a trucking case.  You need an experienced attorney to guide you through the complex litigation.

Phillip has helped numerous trucking accident clients hold the insurance company responsible for their damages and injuries accountable.  We have included the complete script from Phillip's video below.  If you or someone you know has been injured in a trucking accident case, evidence can be lost quickly.  Do not wait to contact one of our experienced trucking accident attorneys for a free, no-cost, no-obligation consultation to discuss your case and learn your rights.

QUESTION:

What makes trucking accidents more complex than regular car accidents?

ANSWER:

There are a lot of reasons why trucking cases are different, but one of the things that makes trucking cases more complex and different has to do with how many entities are involved in trucking.  There's not just the driver and the owner of the truck like other transportation cases.  Here, you have layers of responsibility.  And those layers of responsibility have to do with the shipper.  They have to do with the broker, and that's just some of the people that are involved.  Some of the recent caselaw that's come out of our [Florida's] Supreme Court supports the theories of liability regarding the other entities that are responsible in a trucking accident.  So having a lawyer that has experience and knowledge in knowing the parties that may be responsible in a trucking accident are critical.
