A native of Pensacola, Scott has represented members of our community in complex personal injury and litigation matters for almost twenty years, earning the respect of attorneys statewide as well as our local judiciary. Dedicated to pursuing justice in the toughest, most complex injury cases, Scott works to ensure his clients feel they have an experienced advocate they can trust who will give it to them straight, while obtaining millions of dollars in settlements and jury verdicts. After completing his education in Pensacola—at Longleaf Elementary, Brown Barge Middle School, and Catholic High School—Scott graduated with a Criminology degree at the top of his class at Florida State University. He also graduated in the top seven percent of his law school class at the University of Florida Frederic G. Levin College of Law, where he competed nationally on the University of Florida Trial Team and was selected as a finalist at the National Civil Rights Trial Competition.
Scott obtained his Florida license in 2007 after passing the Florida Bar Exam with one of the highest scores and began his legal career at Levin, Papantonio, Thomas, Mitchell, Rafferty & Proctor working on complex injury litigation including medical malpractice, national pharmaceutical litigation, including mesothelioma, and catastrophic injury cases. At Levin, Scott was involved in trials resulting in multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. In 2012, Scott co-founded Ward & Barnes, P.A. with his long-time friend and business partner, Austin Ward. Ward & Barnes centered their practice on compassion, communication, and aggressive representation, handling cases ranging from simple accident cases to extremely complex medical malpractice and wrongful death claims. At Ward & Barnes, Scott secured tens of millions of dollars in settlement funds and jury verdict awards for his clients. Scott became a partner at Taylor, Warren, Weidner & Hancock, P.A. in 2024 where he continues his zealous pursuit for justice in personal injury claims, motor vehicle accident claims, medical malpractice claims, wrongful death claims, permanent and catastrophic injury claims, and mesothelioma/asbestos claims.
