I too have read some records that were filled with really awful opinions about me. One doctor said I "fought" with his receptionist over a bill.

What happened was this: when I arrived for my appt. I was told he would not accept Medicare at all. I politely told her that I had not been told that and so I had to make other arrangments and I left the office.

since that time, every doctor in that huge association os physicians has been very rude and dismissive of me. I think that they were influenced by the note that I was "difficult and "founght" with the staff. It is heartbreaking that a physician would behave in this way but I know as it happned to me. Do read your records- we need a law passed that there should be no charge to do so.

Ya i agree with this post as some of the deaths are caused due to negligence of doctors, but even it is also the patient responsibility to have a regular check up and be in touch with the doctors to know about his or her own health conditions time to time, there is no harm in making a regular doctor check up monthly once.

Hi - can you please tell me what you should do if your medical records ARE wrong - I have a similar situation - I have my medical records for a broken ankle and what the doctor wrote in his notes is a complete lie. The notes are completely wrong - should I ask for them to be fixed?
